5 Up-And-Coming Boerne Businesses In 2018!
Salvador Dobbs
Just next door to the Little Gretel Restaurant on River Road sits the newest in Boerne’s nightlife: Salvador Dobbs! This unique cocktail bar has a 1920’s prohibition, speakeasy atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy live music entertainment. You can see an updated list of artists coming to the “Dobbs Stage” on their Facebook event calendar. With wedding season just around the corner, it’s the perfect spot for bachelor/bachelorette parties. Salvador Dobbs’ grand opening festivities are expected in the next few weeks, so get ready!
Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards
Named after an ancient Christian saint who was a patron of wine-growers, gardens and birds, the Saint Tryphon Farm and Vineyards are now open for business! The vineyard is just a short drive from downtown Boerne toward Sisterdale, and is also in close proximity to Sister Creek Vineyards! The newest addition to Boerne’s “great places to get wine” list serves and sells Texas wines only, and it is family-owned and operated. When a business is run this way, you are sure to enjoy a quaint, hill country tasting experience! The Grand Opening is scheduled for February 1st, and reservations are strongly encouraged; those can be booked on their website. For souvenirs, wine can be purchased by the bottle or by the case. A trip to Saint Tryphon is a perfect outing for ladies’ getaways, bachelor/bachelorette parties, family gatherings, and more!
Bovine and Fins
Foodies rejoice! The historic Bergmann-Holley house on the grounds of Random Beer Garden has been getting a facelift over the Christmas break and will soon house Bovine and Fins, Boerne’s newest comfortably chic dining establishment. Chef Frank Ramirez, whom you may remember from Crepe Nation, has been preparing an exceptional menu that will change seasonally to feature dishes incorporating the freshest ingredients that the Texas Hill Country has to offer. Items you can expect to find will include, quality steaks, fresh sea food, unique salads, delectable desserts as well as recommended wine and, of course, beer pairings. A mid-February opening date is in the works for this exciting new addition to Random!
Tusculum Brewing Company
As another family-owned and operated business, Tusculum Brewing Co. is excited to bring their own spin on crafted beer to Boerne’s Hill Country Mile! The new brewhouse, beer garden and tap room will be located on the back of the property where the historic H.O. Adler building stands, adjacent to the Cibolo Trail. The building formerly housed Bergmann Lumber Co., and exciting plans are in the works for the interior. Boerne residents and visitors can expect to be sipping on a Tusculum brew later this year. Follow them on Facebook as their plans for the historic space unfold!
The Shops At 153 Main
Get ready to wind down after a long day or week at work and head to Boerne’s newest one-stop hangout hub! “Honoring the past, building the future” sums up the vision for this newly renovated space. What was once the Boerne Ford dealership (early 1900’s), this piece of Boerne history is being transformed to what will be known as the Shops at 153 Main. This shopping center will hold retail stores, a garden rooftop, a cocktail bar, a restaurant called Werks Tavern and so much more. Take advantage of complimentary WIFI while you lounge around and soak in the 1920’s industrial atmosphere; you can also opt to stay in one of their three B&B style rooms. All of this and more will be located in the heart of Boerne, just next door to the Boerne Daily Grind, on the Hill Country Mile!
