October is Abundantly Fun in Boerne, 2016
The first ever BOERNE PADDLE BATTLE @ BOERNE LAKE. BOERNE PADDLE BATTLE is a fun & charitable event for all experience levels – whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned racer. All ages and paddle craft are welcomed and encouraged! This is a family-friendly event for all to enjoy.
Shop fresh local produce, farm fresh eggs, breads, jams, jellies, local honey and Texas Hill Country arts & crafts at the historic Herff Farm at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne. Enjoy free live music, gardening classes, cooking demonstrations and children’s craft activities, too.
A celebration of books and storytelling with local authors. The event is free and open to the public. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday October 8.
Weekly rodeos, live music, events & steak dinners. Check the website for specifics on this weekend’s agenda.
General admission for Saturday night rodeos is as follows: $12 for adults and $6 for children 6-12 years of age, 5 and under free.
The 24th Octoberfest for the Volkswagen Owners Club of San Antonio will be held at Main Plaza in Boerne on Sunday Oct 2nd. The show and swap meet will run from 8-3. There will be a DJ, food vendors, kids & adult games, a piñata for kids 12 and under and a raffle!
Join us for snakebites (beer and hard cider) and a presentation about snakes. Dave Barker, a world renowned snake expert, will explore the snakes of the Texas Hill Country, including their biology and behavior.

Join Boerne Animal Care Services and Hill Country Animal League on Saturday, October 15, at Boerne’s Main Plaza for their 4th Annual Texas-style chili cook off. Along with the cook off there will be an adoption event and the mutt strut. Plus, you might be able to catch some Pokémon around the plaza. Peppers, Paws and Pokémon!

“Key to the Hills” Tractor Pull
Tri-County Tractor Pullers Assn of Rio Medina will hold a tractor pull behind the red barn at the Agricultural Heritage Museum. There will be approximately 50 Farmall & John Deere tractors participating in the event. Enjoy a guided tour of the museum while you are there. You won’t want to miss the Blacksmiths either!

The haunted house will be open on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of October from 8PM til Midnight.
Boerne Handmade Market is a bi-annual, one day event boasting creative and new vendors, selling all handmade items (no cutco/scentsy). The vendors range from bath and body products to home decor to children’s items and even food items.
