Can You Park Your Car in the Garage?
Can you Park your Car in the Garage?
Does your garage look like a dump or the spare storage closet? Wouldn’t you love to park your car in the garage? In South Texas, it’s almost a necessity to be able to park in the garage in the summer. If you don’t, you have burned hands as well as the back of your legs. You could die from the oven that your car has become from sitting outside. So let’s get to work and clean out that garage and save your life. 🙂
Let’s start by following the same directions as decluttering your closet. Remove everything you possibly can from the garage. If you don’t need it, donate or sell it. Now time to organize what is left.
Think about using vertical and ceiling space where possible. One way to is with suspended shelving. Building shelves that hang from the garage ceiling to use for those items that you do not need to get to very often. The next solution is to create shelving and hanging spaces along the garage walls for garden tools, bikes, sports gear and other tools. Using closed shelving will help with organization as well as adding to the neatness of the garage.
Now that you have added shelving above, hanging boards, and wall shelving, it’s time to put everything back in to the garage in its proper place. Grouping like items will help you find things efficiently. Think about labeling the closed shelving.
Ahhh, now pull that car in the garage and relax!
