Christmas Traditions – What’s Yours?
So here we are 12 days before Christmas, which made us think about the Twelve Days of Christmas and other traditions. The Boehm Team though they would share a few of their traditions and maybe help you find some for your family.
Amy & Glen’s family traditions include going to Christmas Eve Service and reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. On Christmas they enjoy King Crab Legs and Prime Rib for Christmas Dinner and then relaxing in front of football for the rest of the day.
Jamie and her family enjoy driving around to look at the Christmas lights and a trip down to the River Walk in San Antonio. They also make batches of wonderful Christmas cookies together.
Lora’s family always look forward to their new PJ’s and book on Christmas Eve as well as making Christmas cookies to share with friends and family. And the one tradition that no one has outgrown is Aunt Lillian’s Rum Cake.
Here are some other family traditions that we have gathered from friends and family:
- Pick out the Christmas tree together
- Make an ornament for the tree each year
- Make a tree garland
- Yearly Christmas Picture
- Incorporate a cultural tradition
- Make a Gingerbread house
- Hot Chocolate Bar
- Write a letter about the year for your Christmas card
- Interview family members and record memories
- Let children buy a gift for someone in need
- Go Caroling
- Watch a Christmas movie
- Set out a piece of cake for the Baby Jesus’ birthday
We would love to hear what your traditions are, please share in the comments.
