DIY Fiesta Flower Crowns
Fiesta is almost upon us, which means you’ll be seeing fiesta flower crowns EVERYWHERE. This year, DIY your own flower crown and stand out from the crowd!
For this DIY you will need:
- An old headband OR thick floral wire to make one from scratch
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors or Wire Cutters (If using floral wire)
- Electrical Tape ( if using floral wire)
- Twine ( if using floral wire)
- A Variety of Fake Flowers (make sure to buy more than you think you’ll need)
If you’re using a headband you already have, this DIY is as simple as trimming the stem off your fake flowers and gluing your them to your headband. Make sure you mix shapes, sizes and colors. You may choose to wrap your headband in green electrical or floral tape before you start gluing the flowers.(see picture below).
If you’re choosing make your crown from scratch, first things first is you will need to trim your twine to fit around your head. To stabilize your crown, take your floral wire and wrap it around the twine. When trimming the stems on your fake flowers, make sure to leave about on inch. Wrap the floral wire around the stem and use the excess wire to attach to your crown. Keep adding flowers all the way around the crown until you get your desired look.
