Go Rio Now Offering Commuter Cruises on the River Walk
Cruises on the River Walk are not just for tourists anymore.
Go Rio, the company that offers daily river cruises throughout downtown San Antonio, is now offering morning and evening “commuter” rides during the week.
Rides are available at 7 and 7:30 a.m. from The Pearl to Mexican Manhattan and Casa Rio. In the evening, the boats take the opposite route, and they pick up at 5:30 and 6 p.m.
The rides are part of a trial program that runs through Oct. 31. If enough people buy passes, Go Rio representative Lee Talamantez said the company would make the service permanent as well as consider expanding the routes.
“By adding this particular service, it will enable local residents to get to their jobs conveniently,” Talamantez said. “It’s a way to show our appreciation for fellow San Antonians … and it’s an eco-friendly way to commute.”
To use the commuter service, customers must purchase a “Commuter Express” pass for $25. The pass is good for 30 days, however, single day passes are not available.
