NCAA Final Four to Return to San Antonio in 2025
Last Monday, the NCAA announced that San Antonio will host the Men’s Final Four Tournament in 2025. Also awarded Final Fours were Houston (2023), Phoenix (2024) and Indianapolis (2026). San Antonio succesfully beat out bids from North Texas, Los Angeles and Detroit.
Having hosted the Final Four Tournament four separate times (1998, 2004, 2008 and 2018) San Antonio has proved to be a player and fan favorite. The 2018 Tournament hosted in San Antonio received lots of positive feedback, making the NCAA’s decision to pick SA that much easier.
Changes are expected to be made to the Alamodome before the 2025 tournament. This includes expanding on it’s 66 permanent suites. “That is a part of the conversation, the bid specifications require a minimum of 70 suites to host the Final Four and it’s something we will have to do,” said Jenny Carnes, associate executive director at San Antonio Sport.
“We just hosted the best Final Four in tournament history and we had to go to Boston to put on a show about why it will be even bigger and better than we just did,” Nirenberg said. “And you know what? They agreed with us and the Final Four is coming back to where it belongs in San Antonio, Texas.”
