Census: San Antonio Ranks Number 1 in Cities’ Population Growth
The Alamo City is growing! It growing so much that it topped the national list for largest raw numeric growth in population among U.S. cities of 50,000+ residents. The data released earlier this month by the U.S. Census Bureau.
San Antonio gained 24,208 residents between July 1, 2016, and July 1, 2017. This is according to annual population estimates released by the federal agency. That amounts to an average of 66 people per day, the Census Bureau said.
The surge pushed the city’s population above 1.5 million for the first time. That marks an increase of almost 185,000 people in the city limits since the 2010 census.
