- The lender will encourage you to voluntarily give your financial documents for pre-approval
- If you have found the home that you would like to purchase, the realtor for the sellers will most likely require a pre-approval letter and your realtor will want to confirm with your lender:
- Pre-approval was based on more than a credit score
- That they obtained proper verification documents
- Realize that timelines for buying homes may be longer than in the past on the closing part, but items that your lender needs may be required earlier. (i.e., home warranty, home insurance, survey and/or HOA documents)
- Consult with your lender and your realtor on a reasonable closing date
- Ask your realtor or your closing agent to explain any documents that are involved in your transaction
- Be sure that you are aware of all the deadlines for documents for your contract and that they are being taken care of by either your realtor, lender or closing agent. Depend on the professionals to help you get to the closing table.
